Superbowl Showdown

Apparently the gesture that M.I.A. directed to 100 million people during the halftime of Superbowl 46 could cost NBC a lot of money. I, on the other hand, didn’t even notice. I suppose I have been desensitized to someone giving the finger and I image a lot of other people have as well. I wonder how many people were actually offended (or surprised) because I think it’s pretty awesome.

Speaking of the Superbowl, is anyone else into the commercials? I know it’s cliche, but they are my favorite part each year. Here are my favorites:*

I’m guessing you’re not surprised by this one. But, does it really get much better than Clint Eastwood talking up the importance of American manufacturing? Probably not because it’s incredibly important and quite abhorrent that we rely so much on other countries with poor working conditions to make our lives better.

As a huge fan of history and period pieces, how could I not adore these Budweiser commercials? Still not a huge fan of Bud though…

Finally, I enjoyed this hilarious portrayal of a grad who overreacts when he wrongly assumes his parents have just given him a Camero. They haven’t.

Did you have a favorite?

* I only watched the first half or so.
